David Paik, PhD is Vice President and a founding member of Mirae Asset Capital Life Science, a subsidiary of Mirae Asset Financial Group. He joined Mirae Asset in 2022 first at Mirae Asset Capital then assisted to launch the current firm in 2023. He has more than 5 years of biotech venture capital experience with prior roles at RTW Investments and Sazze Partners and is currently a Board Observer at Precede Biosciences. Dr. Paik received his PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology with HHMI/VUMC Certificate Program in Molecular Medicine at Vanderbilt University and his postdoctoral training at Stanford Cardiovascular Institute. He authored over 50 peer-review publications and is a recipient of NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award and AHA Career Development Award. He is currently based in Menlo Park, CA.
